My Amazon Travel Essentials

Today I am sharing my favorite Amazon travel essentials! I am by no means a pro-traveller but, I’d like to think I have learned a few things about what to pack when traveling internationally or domestically.

Now, everything on this list isn’t an essential, and to some they might seem silly, but they are all things I don’t travel without. So to me, they are essentials. For example, the travel mirror. Most wouldn’t consider it an essential, however I don’t leave home without it. Not even for a quick weekend trip. Once you’ve shared a hotel room with 3 other women or a hostel with 5 and you’re all trying to get ready with only one mirror, you’ll understand.

I want to say too, I’m all about convenience and efficiency. So could I put all of my medicines in little separate Zip-loc baggies? Yes. But they make travel pill cases, so I’mma buy them. Most of these items are convenience items, not “essentials” and I’m ok with that. So don’t come for me saying, “these aren’t essentials,” because I simply do not care. Could you travel without most of them? Absolutely. But I don’t want to.

  1. beauty blender holder - As someone who wets their beauty blender, I found it gross to just throw it back into my makeup bag with everything else. So this holder is perfect. Plus it gives me somewhere to let it sit and dry out so it doesn’t get moldy.

  2. travel mirror - If there’s one item I rave about while traveling, it’s this mirror. Hands down one of my best purchases. When you’re sharing a room with other people (5 other women to be exact) and there is only one mirror, this has saved me countless times, giving me a place to get ready and do my makeup without having to worry about being in anyone’s way.

  3. cosmetic bags - I bought these because of how wide they open. It makes it so easy to find what you’re looking for. I use the little one in my carry on and the big one in my suitcase.

  4. pill boxes - At home I have my weekly pill case, but it’s not the most handy when I’m traveling for more than a week. I usually count out and put my daily meds in one case and other essentials like Advil, Zyrtec, or Tums in another.

  5. makeup brush covers - This goes back to throwing brushes into an open makeup bag. Something about it grosses me out and these proved to be SO helpful. I put multiple brushes in one sleeve to save space. And, that way I don’t end up with blush or eyeshadow all over everything inside of my bag.

  6. portable charger - I mean what more can I say. A must when traveling.

  7. travel wallet - This isn’t for everyone, but I like being able to have all of my tickets and paper work and passport together where I could easily find all of it.

  8. sling bag - I actually wear this across my chest and use it as my day pack while I’m out about about exploring. It’s small and light enough that it doesn’t get too uncomfortable, but it still fits a good amount. And it’s really handy when you’re roaming about and don’t want to worry about pick pockets.

  9. travel pillow bag - I got my travel pillow from TJ Maxx and it’s great, but it was before they started selling them with bags. This is nice because I can snap it to the outside of my carry-on (meaning it doesn’t take up valuable inside space) and I don’t have to worry about my pillow, which gets put close to my face, touching the germ-y airport floors.

  10. collapsible water bottle - This was an item I swore I’d never buy, and now I don’t travel without it. Even domestically. It’s so handy to be able to fold up and stuff in my carry-on and then fill once I’m past security. Plus, I recently realized how much I like traveling with a reusable water bottle.

  11. 6” lightening cables - Forget trying to shove a full cord into your bag with your portable charger. These are a game changer and take up so much less space. I’m sure they make them in micro USB form too if you’re not an iPhone girlie.

  12. jewelry case - This isn’t an essential, but as someone who wears quite a bit of jewelry, it works really well for me. Nothing gets tangled or lost or broken. It’s great!

  13. travel umbrella - Another item I swore I wouldn’t buy. I don’t like using umbrellas at home, why would I use on when traveling. But let me tell you, this saved me multiple times in London and Barcelona. When everyone else was buying umbrellas or getting drenched, I was (mostly) dry!

  14. universal plug adapter - Self-explanatory. I like this one because it has the USB ports and because it’s universal. So if you’re planning to visit multiple places, you only need one adapter.

And those are some of my favorite Amazon travel essentials. Like I said before, not everything is an essential, but they sure do make my life easier while traveling. And some of these I haven’t seen on other lists before, so hopefully this was helpful in some way!
